Why Le Chat is now called Vibe

Mistral renamed Le Chat to Vibe, transferring conversation history, settings and plans to the updated product. The former name remains in this entry so people can find it using a familiar search term.

Vibe combines general work and coding workflows. Work Mode supports research, document processing and results based on supplied material. Code Mode is designed for development tasks. The official page also describes external-tool connections and enterprise deployment options.

How an agent task differs from a question

A narrow question is enough when you only need an answer. For multi-step work, describe the final result, available source material and permitted actions. For example, request a review of specified documents and an editable draft without sending it to recipients. Limit connected-system permissions to the particular task.

Example: a work memo drawing on scattered sources

Pass a few materials and explain who the note is written for. Ask to suggest a plan first, then collect facts with links to sources and highlight contradictions. This order helps notice a gap before it turns into a confident paragraph.

Review the draft to ensure its conclusions concern your organisation and do not invent agreements. If an agent proposes changing a file or acting through a connection, read the change list. A connected workflow does not remove the need for access control and substantive review.
