A platform for recording conversational video and audio, editing it and preparing short clips. Local track recording preserves sources but does not establish fully local AI processing.

Start with a well-recorded conversation
Riverside is designed for podcasts, interviews, webinars and other conversational formats. The host invites guests, records the material and then edits it on the same platform. In a supported setup, participants' tracks are recorded on their devices and uploaded to the service. This helps preserve separate editing sources, but microphone quality, lighting and correct device selection still matter.
The input can be a new recording or uploaded video and audio. Available tools turn these into an episode, separate tracks, a transcript and short clips. The current official website uses riverside.com; the former riverside.fm address redirects there.
Editing through speech
The text editor links the transcript to the recording and helps shorten a conversation. Magic Clips suggests short extracts, while audio processing improves speech intelligibility. AI notes can provide a draft episode description when checked against the actual content.
These features solve different problems. A short clip should contain a complete idea, and cleaned-up speech should remain natural. Automatic selection does not establish a video's future popularity. Check transitions, synchronization, framing and any words absent from the original recording.
Example: interview a project's creator
Before the call, ask the guest to check their camera and microphone, choose a quiet room and agree to the recording. Leave short pauses between questions to simplify editing. Afterward, make sure the tracks have uploaded before closing the session.
Preserve the speaker's arguments and qualifications in the main episode. For a short video, select one question with a complete answer, correct the captions and check that the opening makes sense without the full conversation. Verify names, dates and quotations against the audio, rather than relying only on automatically generated notes.
Plans, downloads and data
Riverside has a free offer and paid plans. Watermarks, quality, separate tracks, team features and AI resources vary. Public pages change, so exact quotas are not fixed here. If you will edit elsewhere, check the right to download separate tracks and the applicable limits in advance.
Local recording does not prove local transcription or an absence of data uploads. The host needs an account; check guest participation and device requirements in the documentation. APIs and advanced integrations have separate conditions that should be confirmed for the intended workflow.

Practical example
- Task
- Record a remote interview
- What to prepare
- A short instructional script and your own videos, photographs and voiceover demonstrating the action.
Task brief or prompt
Assemble instructions with sequential steps, clear captions and pauses to inspect details. Do not add unverified product properties. If a required shot is missing, flag the gap instead of inventing a demonstration.
Expected result
A rough edit of an instructional video. Available generation operations, formats and export options depend on the service and plan.
How to check the result
- The order of shots matches the actual sequence of actions.
- Captions are readable on a phone and do not obscure important details.
- Speech, music, subtitles and rights to each source material are verified.
- Check the watermark, resolution, storage and export format before paying or publishing.
An editorial teaching example of a task brief, not the result of hands-on testing of the service. Check that the required mode is available, that you have rights to the source material and that the intended use of the result is permitted.
